Depth percentage correlates with a diamond's sparkle factor. It is measured by dividing the diamond height by its diameter. For maximum sparkle, the depth percentage of a round diamond should be between 54% and 66%.
Length/Width Ratio
The proportional relationship between your diamond’s length and width. A perfect round diamond would measure equally 1-to-1, so its LxW ratio would measure as 1.
Symmetry
Symmetry tells you how well a diamond’s facets align to create sparkle. Diamonds with perfect symmetry create the most sparkle and earn a grade of Excellent or Ideal.

Table percentage tells you how big a diamond’s topmost facet (aka table) is in comparison to its diameter (aka girdle). When that ratio is in the right range, a diamond will sparkle more.

This elongated diamond shape tends to look larger than it actually is. With pear shaped diamonds making up 2.2% of all Ritani diamonds sold, they are an unusual and eye-catching shape. The pear shaped diamond is a hybrid of marquise and round shaped diamonds. Typically worn on engagement rings with the point facing down the finger – away from the hand – they have a flattering, elongating effect. Often, customers who want to maximize sparkle will choose a higher quality cut grade in lieu of a large carat size, within their budget. For a pear shaped diamond with beautiful sparkle, choose a stone with a “Very Good” cut. 1.25 carat pear shaped diamonds also work exceptionally well in custom jewelry, such as earrings and solitaire pendants. If you would like to make your 1.25 carat pear shaped diamond appear larger, opt for a halo setting. A halo setting will also provide more sparkle.
