Carat Weight
2 carat diamonds are bigger than the average engagement ring diamond and are sure to make a statement and impress your significant other. The large size of your diamond will be very noticeable and make it stand out among the others
Shape
Pear-shaped diamonds, also known as teardrop diamonds, deliver stunning sparkle in a unique shape. With a brilliant, 58-facet pattern, distinctive curves, and single point, the pear is a hybrid of the round and marquise styles. This elongated diamond shape tends to look larger than it actually is.
With pear-shaped diamonds making up 2.2% of all Ritani diamonds sold, they are an unusual and eye-catching shape. Typically worn with the point facing down the finger – away from the hand – they have a flattering, elongating effect.
Pear-shaped diamonds are also a popular choice for custom jewelry, such as earrings and pendants.
If you would like to make your pear-shaped diamond appear larger, opt for a halo setting. A halo setting will also provide more sparkle. Or let this unique diamond shape stand out on its own with a solitaire setting.
The pointed tip on a pear-shaped diamond makes it prone to chipping. Purchase a setting that will protect the tip of the stone.
Ring Style
Solitaire engagement rings are the most popular setting style at Ritani. A benefit to solitaire engagement rings is that they are lower maintenance - rings with diamonds in the band can sometimes fall out. They also tend to be less expensive than other setting styles since they feature a plain band. Additionally, solitaire engagement rings are easy to pair with any wedding ring. Round solitaire engagement rings are a classic choice. Oval solitaire engagement rings are growing in popularity and offer a distinctive look. Looking for a rose gold solitaire engagement ring or a yellow gold solitaire engagement ring? Save some money by going down lower on the diamond's color scale. The warm hues of these metals will complement the diamond well.
Earth Grown Diamonds
Earth grown diamonds are mined from deep under the earth's surface where they have lain dormant for millions of years. When you hold an earth grown diamond, reflect on the immense journey this diamond has taken and the history it has endured.
A diamond starts out in the lowly form of graphite, such as you might find in the tip of your pencil. Over the course of hundereds of millions of years, the immense pressure and temperature produced deep inside the earth rearrange the carbon atoms into a crystal structure.
Then miners dig deep tunnels under the earth and collect the rough diamonds. The rough diamond looks nothing like the sparkly diamond you are holding. It has an irregular shape, is very dirty and looks dull. The diamond is then cleaned, cut into it's desired shape, and finally polished into the beautiful diamond you are now holding!
All Ritani earth grown diamonds are certified by either the AGS or GIA – the two most respected independent grading labs in the world.
